On a recent trip, I picked up this white shirt. It was long, straight and narrow. There were openings down the front that looked like a ruffle (or something) had been removed. To solve that problem, I created the center applique by cutting out Japanese blooms from some of my silk fabric. I kept sifting through my stash of silk remnants for more fabrics to compliment the center detail and proceeded to turn the straight white shirt into a flowing tunic that will move with the wearer.
White pima cotton gauze shirt
Sections of fabric inserted, 100% fine silk
Tunic with widened neckline, sections of sheer, soft fabric, gentle movement, feminine sensibility - makes you think you can smell spring in the air. For now, those of us still shut in by the wind chill ( it's minus 25 here) can add shawl or vest. Those of you lucky enough to be living in more temperate places can enjoy wearing just a tank or cami underneath!
